1001 - Finely potted Worcester sauceboat c 1765-8.
This should be a fairly valuable object but part of the spout has been reglued and rather a poor restoration done to it. It is ripe for re-restoring and it might even pay to do it.
This class of sauceboat is prone to damage because of the thin potting and the other yellow ground example on this site is also damaged.
The sauceboat is 20 cms long and finely panted with exotic birds in a rococo scrolled cartouche. Crisply moulded it also has a small chip near the handle.
