1122 - A rare Bow sauceboat possibly copying Liverpool, c 1765-70
The shape of this sauceboat is more commonly seen in Reid and James Pennington sauceboats of a slightly earlier date. However the internal decoration and the handle shape mark it out as Bow whilst the limited translucency suggests the dating.
In excellent condition. I have only seen four Bow sauceboats of this shape and at one time I owned them all! 18 cms long.
Illustrated in my book, British Porcelain Sauceboats of the 18th Century, Fig. 136.
